A quote around Action Learning
“I have always found Action Learning to be truly transformative and it has helped me to work through many challenges and opportunities in both my personal and professional life. Set members have the opportunity to further develop so many skills including problem solving, critical and innovative thinking, collaboration, mastery of listening and questioning. The ‘Aha’ moments and breakthrough moments experienced really light me up. It’s incredibly rewarding being able to support the group through a wonderful process that empowers and enables them to make truly impactful progress in their lives.”

What brought you to AL & when?
In 2016, while participating in a programme for social entrepreneurs, I discovered action learning, which became a pivotal part of the experience. With a background in coaching, I immediately connected with action learning due to its safe space for exploring challenges, supported by both the facilitator and group members. The profound impact it had on me led me to request facilitator training during the programme. The opportunity was granted, and I have been facilitating action learning for social entrepreneurs ever since, helping others navigate their own challenges in a supportive, growth-oriented environment.
What do you love about AL?
I found AL to be extremely powerful because it creates a dynamic, collaborative space where individuals can explore real challenges fully supported by the group and a tried and tested methodology. It encourages deep reflection, critical thinking and creative solutions that really help participants to move forward positively. So it is a wonderful combination of support, accountability, collective wisdom which together is incredibly impactful.
Why does AL matter?
Action learning matters because it empowers individuals to tackle real challenges in a supportive and collaborative environment. It offers a safe space, allowing participants to openly explore complex issues and find their own solutions. The process fosters personal and professional growth by encouraging deep reflection, active listening, and critical thinking. It also builds a sense of community, where people feel heard, valued, and supported by others with diverse perspectives. It helps individuals grow and build confidence in navigating uncertainty and change.
