Fiona Scrase
Action learning and I met whilst studying at Sheffield Hallam University in 1999. Over the years I’ve seen an increase in the pace of work, workloads and greater, sometimes unrealistic expectations. As the trust, support and constructive challenge builds Set members truly lean in. They pause, step back, take in a broader view and get to the heart of the issue leaving uplifted having made more considered decisions and actions.
Yet what I have come to appreciate about Action Learning is that, beyond being a space for problem-solving, it provides a rare opportunity for honesty—with ourselves and with others. In this space, we openly confront the challenges we face, and in doing so, we cultivate deep, meaningful, and lasting connections. It fosters kindness, support, and a profound humanness amidst the complexities of our shared experiences.
